May 11, 2009

On May 6, CNN.com's Reggie Aqui and Naamua Delaney conducted an interview with CREED members Scott Stapp and Mark Tremonti about their decision to reunite. Watch the six-minute chat below.

For those ALTER BRIDGE fans worried that the announced CREED reunion may delay a future album, fret not. Lead guitarist Mark Tremonti told The Pulse of Radio despite the CREED's reformation, it's business as usual for ALTER BRIDGE. "We got a record comin' out," he said. "Before all the news of this came out, we told them it was gonna be first half of next year, and it's still gonna be first half next year. I think me and Scott [Phillips; drums] look at it as a bonus for our fans; we're just gonna have another product from somebody that hopefully their fans of already comin' out with another project on top of another album on top of what they would originally be getting."

The CREED reunion tour begins August 6 in Philadelphia. It will be the band's first gig since they disbanded in 2004.

CREED was the first act to have seven consecutive No. 1 rock radio singles, four of which came off the debut album. They earned a Grammy for "Best Rock Song" in 2001 for "With Arms Wide Open".
